Younji Yi

Younji Yi is a Korean coloratura soprano who has recently gained recognition for her remarkable performances and achievements. A semi-finalist in both the 2024 Neue Stimmen and Seoul International Music Competitions, she is currently part of the Opera Studio at Daegu Opera House. Notable roles include Pamina (Die Zauberflöte, Daegu Opera House, 2023) and the upcoming Adina (L’elisir d’amore, Seoul, 2025).

Younji holds a Master of Music Studies (Opera Performance) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under Dr. Rowena Cowley. She has portrayed roles such as Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Servilia (La clemenza di Tito), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), and performed as a soprano soloist in Mozart’s Requiem.

Her accolades include the IFAC Handa Australia Singing Competition Audience Prize (2022) and the Bel Canto Award from the Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge Foundation (2021). She has also earned recognition in the Korea Vocal Competition, LISMA International Music Competition, and Wollongong Eisteddfod.
