Zhejiang Conservatory of Music

Baritone Liu Tao is Associate Professor and supervisor of the master’s programme at the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. He is also a member of various official organisations in China, including the Chinese Musicians Association, Zhejiang Musicians Association, and the 14th Provincial Committee of Zhejiang. He is also Vice President of the Korea-China-US International Art Education Association.

Liu won the First Prize at the 13th Golden Bell Awards in Bel Canto Singing. Recipient of the 2021 Zhejiang Provincial Special Artistic Contribution Award, honored as “Zhejiang’s Most Beautiful Cultural and Tourism Figure,” winner of the 4th Zhejiang Music Award in 2022, selected for the Zhejiang Provincial “Five Batches” Leading Talents Program and the National “Ten Thousand Talents Plan” for Outstanding Young Talents in 2022. In 2023, recognized as an “Outstanding Talent” at the 15th National Vocal Music Exhibition and served as a torchbearer for the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games.

Gold Medal in the Bel Canto category and Special Prize in the Bel Canto Peak Showdown at the 2019 Huanglong Music Season Vocal Art Week

Gold Medal in the Bel Canto category at the Xinsong Plan Zhejiang Provincial Youth Singer Competition

“Best Baritone Paolo Silveri” Special Award at the 43rd Bellini International Vocal Competition

Notable Performances and Engagements:

Invited to perform in the restaging of the large-scale water-symphony concert “Most Memorable is Hangzhou” for the G20 Summit, singing “My Motherland and I”

Invited to record programs for CCTV, including “Chinese Folk Songs” and “Symphony of the New Spring”

Actively performing on major professional stages in recent years, with roles in operas such as “Song of Youth,” “Pagliacci,” “Red Boat,” “Song of the Nation,” “Daughter of the Party,” “Morning Bell,” and “Where the Wind Blows”.
